The speaker cube itself does not have any volume or tone controls--that comes from whatever playback device you are using. As long as your phone, tablet, or computer has Bluetooth capability and can connect with the cube; then you change the sound volume using the controls of your phone, tablet, or computer. They have a pretty amazing sound for so small a speaker and I have more than one now.
